Thank you for coming today. I am pleased to announce that I will be a candidate in the 2010 Republican Primary Election for Governor of Alaska.

My decision to run is not a decision I made lightly. I received encouragement from people all across our state. They are concerned about what they see as a series of missed opportunities for Alaska. Ralph Samuels: 100% Alaskan

Ralph Samuels knows Alaska, from the crevasses of Denali’s glaciers to the waterways of Southeast Alaska. Anchorage has been Ralph’s home since 1986, but he grew up and lived throughout Alaska, including Nome, King Salmon, Fairbanks and Metlakatla, where he graduated from high school. As a result, he has a real appreciation for Alaska’s uniqueness, the diversity of our people, and the values and ideals that draw Alaskans together.

Alaska Needs Leadership Now

I am running for Governor for one very simple reason: Alaska’s needs leadership now to secure our future.

I believe in Alaska and I care deeply about our future. We need to take charge of our future and chart a course that will ensure we have a strong economy years from now, quality jobs for Alaskans, and an education system and quality of life that will keep our young people here at home. We need to create that future, it won’t just happen on its own.
